Ex Dono: Live Fundraiser feat. Makisig Morales
“Whoever speaks, let him speak, as it were, the utterances of God; whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Saint Peter’s words in 1 Peter 4:11 became a reality once again in Cambodia through the CFC community’s dinner and show last February 6, 2010. This yearly event, which became a tradition in Phnom Penh since 2004, was a talent showcase of the members of the community and friends, to raise funds to assist our Khmer brothers and sisters.
The title of this year’s show expressed appropriately the aim of Ex Dono: for the community to share their talents, time, energy and finances to our brothers and sisters in need and, equally important, to facilitate opportunities for others to do the same.
The preparation for this event was a concerted effort of several committees and individuals:Program and Direction, headed by Ray Kirit, Marketing led by Grace Quimpo, Band practices by Jed Chua, Choreography by Carina, Retail Corner by Jovy Jumawan, and Finance by Will Ocampo and Jessica Batausa.
Spearheaded by the Director/Choreographer couple, Ray and Carina Kirit, the program consisted of 3 sets of live music accompanied by group dances. The GK Rafaela kids also did a special number, which was led by Bong Gonzaga. The show was made complete through the very special participation of Makisig Morales, who has graciously and generously shared his time to visit Cambodia just for this event.
The community deeply appreciate the assistance and partnership of the following: Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler and the Catholic Diocese, Father Charlie Dietmier our spiritual advisor, the GK Rafaela kids, the Morales family (Bro. Jong, Sis. Jackie, Maningning and Makisig), CFC Vietnam, CFC Philippines, Bro. Clarke Nebrao, CFC GMA country coordinators, Dino Bollos, Noel Pajutan, all the sponsors and friends. As a result of the Ex Dono show, the daycare center structure in the GK Rafaela Village will finally be finished. All the months of after-work practices and other sacrifices was all worth it!
Indeed, the Lord has once again showed His greatness in Cambodia making Ex Dono: Live a reality and a success. To God be the Glory!
