Life is a Journey
When I was still a member of Single for Christ, I found out that renewal was not that easy. The desire to change was there but there was still something within me I wasn’t able to surrender to Him and truly become a son of God. I still flirted with other women even though I already had a girlfriend in the community. Things were always like that. I attended household meetings and participated in all fellowship activities. We danced and sang for God even though my voice is not that good. Despite of these, I always failed Him and I was continually remorseful for the things I knew was wrong and yet I kept on doing. All I really wanted was to give all the glory Him. I am but human and weak and everyday seemed to be a struggle for me.
Life is a Journey, a daily voyage towards our goals, aspirations and personal development. And as we take this adventure, we will encounter varying experiences – joy and sorrow, enlightenment and confusion, exuberance and depression. Sometimes the road we take in life seems worry-free, smooth as silk. At other times, the road is all up-hill. Problems, bumps in the roads or failures hinder us in our journey.
We drive our life and God is letting us experience all the ups and downs so that we can be better persons. So we can be better sons and daughters of God. Brothers and sisters, everyday will be easier if you start the day with a prayer. And when things don’t go your way, just stop, slow down, take a deep breath and pray and God will take care of the rest. If you encounter problems and temptations, just seek His words and learn from the beautiful things that has God given you.
The Holy Spirit will give us grace and strength in our time of difficulties. If we submit to Jesus we will walk in the light of His truth and love. If we turn our backs on Him we will stumble and fall in the ways of sin and darkness. Are you ready to follow Jesus?
“Give me, O Lord, a steadfast heart which no unworthy thought can drag downwards; an unconquered heart which no tribulation can wear out; an upright heart which no unworthy purpose may tempt aside. Bestow upon me also, O Lord my God, understanding to know you, diligence to seek you, wisdom to find you, and a faithfulness that may finally embrace you; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.’”
